Hello there, I'm Alison, but you can call me Aly. I've been enjoying the serene life here in beautiful Devon for a few years now, and I'd love to share a little about my journey with you.
You see, I've always had a passion for art, which began when I was in school. However, life took me in a different direction, and I never pursued it further. It wasn't until 2018 when I lost my beloved cocker spaniel that something magical happened.
In an attempt to immortalise my furry companion in a portrait, I dusted off my artistic skills, which had been dormant for far too long. To my surprise, I was completely captivated by the process. That one portrait reignited my creative spark.
Soon, friends and family began to notice my newfound talent and started asking me to create portraits of their cherished pets. And you know what they say, the rest is history.

My Story
Allow me to share the spark that ignited my passion for art. Back in school, I was enchanted by the world of art, but life took me on a different journey, and for many years, I never picked up a pencil or brush. The occasional paintings of Disney characters for my children were my only artistic endeavours during that time.
In 2018, I made a bold decision to transform my life. I bid farewell to my long-standing career in Accounts and embarked on a new path, one filled with less stress and more opportunities for reflection and adventure. It was the year that Devon became my new home, and a fresh chapter in my life unfolded.
Tragically, that same year, I had to say goodbye to my beloved companion, Oscar, my loyal cocker spaniel. To help heal from the loss, I turned to the therapeutic power of coloured pencils. I decided to create a portrait of Oscar, and through that process, I discovered a deep sense of solace and comfort.
From that very first picture of Oscar, something remarkable happened. It was as if my artistry came alive again, and commissions began to flow in. My affection for coloured pencils grew stronger with each stroke, and I found myself immersed in a world of creativity and connection.
Now, I'm here, ready to use my newfound passion to capture the essence of your cherished pets. Every portrait I create is not just a piece of art; it's a tribute to the bond between you and your furry friends, crafted with love and inspired by the journey that led me here. About the Art:
Capturing your pet's essence is what I do best! All my portraits are crafted with high-quality light-fast coloured pencils on a Pastel mat board. Don't worry if you're unsure about the perfect photo – I'm here to help you choose the best one.
If you're thinking of including more than one furry friend in your portrait, there's just a small additional charge. It's 20% extra for the first pet and only 10% more for each additional one.
To secure your spot on my waiting list, a 20% deposit is all it takes. Please note that deposits are non-refundable. You only need to pay the remaining balance once you're thrilled with the finished masterpiece.
